We have two swimming programs for SF Bay Area swimmers, that can provide the foundation of your swimming training sessions. Please read through the details below to understand the key differences.


purplepatch / JCCSF swims

  • Program Type: Coached by Matt Dixon
  • When: Tuesday and Thursday, 5:30am - 7:00am at JCCSF Pool
  • Cost: Membership to JCCSF + Quarterly Fee's
  • Details: A complete training and coaching program for purplepatch athletes, with all training integrating with purplepatch training programs. All sessions are coached by Matt Dixon, with a focus on training, technique and skills to prepare you for open water and triathlon racing

Every Man Jack / purplepatch swims

  • Program Type: Coached by team members of Every Man Jack
  • When: Sunday 8:00am - 9:30am at at Tamalpais High School, Mill Valley.
  • Cost: Quarterly Fee's or $10 Drop-in Fee
  • Details: A weekly group swim sessions that aligns with purplepatch training progression and the Virtual Training Squad. Most athletes will be purplepatch and/or Every Man Jack team members. ALL levels welcome, but this program is designed for triathletes looking to improve swimming performance. The focus is on training and race preparation. ALL sessions prepared by Matt Dixon and implemented by Team Every Man Jack.

purplepatch Indoor Cycling at Shift

  • Program Type: Indoor group cycling on computrainers with Matt Dixon + others
  • When: Various Training opportunities through the weeks
  • Cost: Membership to Shift or Drop-in rates.
  • Details: A center-based cycling program with training designed by Matt Dixon. You can be in a welcoming community, with many other purplepatch athletes, and implement your purplepatch training programs. Instructors include Matt Dixon, Meredith Kessler and other key friends of purplepatch

purplepatch/Every Man Jack MARIN Indoor Cycling at Tri More Fitness (5-points fitness center)

  • Program Type: Indoor group cycling on computrainers led by Gardie Jackson/TriMore Fitness
  • When: Mon, Wed, Fri; 5:45am - 7:15am, at at 5-Points Fitness Center Marin
  • Cost: Monthly Membership OR $30 drop-in
  • Details: We are hosting three morning sessions each week at the 5-points Gym, in collaboration with Team Every Jack. All sessions are led by Gardie Jackson, utilizing the purplepatch training methodology and training designed by Matt Dixon. A great early-morning alternative for Marin based athletes and riding enthusiasts.

We have three main group-based running sessions each week, all of which are complementary and open to all local athletes and enthusiasts. You do not have to be a member of purplepatch to attend these sessions.


purplepatch Tuesday Coached run (JCCSF)

  • Program Type: Group coached running session with Matt Dixon
  • When: Tuesday 7:15am following swim, at JCCSF
  • Cost: Free
  • Details: A free group run and coached session with Matt Dixon. Leaving from the JCCSF, we will make our way into the Presidio to hill or endurance training. All levels welcome, but this loosely coached program is designed for self-sustained runners and athletes.

Team Every Man Jack / purplepatch Thursday Interval Run

  • Program Type: Group interval running session led by Every Man Jack and Naomi Fliflet
  • When: Thursdays 6:00pm - 7:00pm at Kezar Stadium (Northeast bleachers), 670 Kezar Dr, San Francisco
  • Cost: Free
  • Details: A free group training session utilizing the purplepatch training session designed by Matt Dixon and integrated with the purplepatch training progression. Typically divided into two group levels, this social training session with have 1 to 2 group leaders to help deliver the session and ensure your success. Note: There are no bathrooms or water in the immediate vicinity.  Please come prepared with what you need (hydration & fueling, etc) for the workout

Team Every Man Jack / purplepatch Sunday Interval Run

  • Program Type: Group interval or endurance running session led by Team Every Man Jack
  • When: Sundays 9:30am - 11:00am at Tamalpais High School, Mill Valley.
  • Cost: Free
  • Details: A free group training session following the Sunday swim session led by Team Every Man Jack. This is not a 'no-drop' run, and the route may alter by week. The session will be guided by members of Team Every Man Jack, utilizing a training session prescribed by Matt Dixon. All levels welcome, but socially paced runners encouraged to bring a running buddy.
