What it's all About

Join the Purple Patch Coaching Team for our highly desirable three-day Mini Triathlon Training Camp.  This year’s camp will be based out of San Rafael, California.  With camp being headquartered just 15 minutes North of the Golden Gate bridge, we offer instant access to world-class riding, open water swimming, outdoor swimming pool, and a network of perfect training venues for technical, speed, and endurance running.

This year’s camp will follow the format of our five-day Empowerment Camp in Hawaii, within a more time-efficient three-day format.  The mission remains the same which is to focus on key elements of performance that are able to be integrated and applied to your own habits and training when you return home.  Attention and personal coaching service will be at a premium, with a very low athlete to coach ratio. Under the supervision and guidance of head cycling coach, Paul Buick, we are bringing in almost all of the Purple Patch coaching team to lead the camp.  Matt Dixon will attend key sessions and discussions to top off a magical weekend of education, skills, and training.

Accommodations

Campers are required to book overnight accommodations at Embassy Suites - San Rafael.  After registration, you will receive a link to book your accommodations.  Please do NOT book by calling the hotel directly as your reservation will not be part of the PPF group.

Agenda

You will be busy from morning 'til night with a highly structured schedule that allows a great blend of training, education, skills, and fun.  A detailed agenda will be provided in the weeks prior to the camp, but the camp will broadly encompass:

Education: We will cover a wide range of key educational concepts including the meaning behind training principles and sessions, training management, applied training (theory to real-world application), nutrition, sleep and much more.

Skills: A key component of this camp is applied technique and form to real-world performance and training.  With this focus we will focus on:

  • Terrain Management of bike and run
  • Technique and Form in swim, bike, and run
  • Training Execution:  hills and intervals
  • Strength, Conditioning, and Mobility

Training: The team of world-class coaches will guide and coach you through epic swimming, cycling, and running sessions.

Special Something: If our past camps are a predictor, you will bond with your teammates and leave with magical memories of a truly unique Purple Patch Fitness triathlon training experience.

  • Light breakfast available at host hotel all mornings

    We will also provide fruit, water and coffee for those athletes not staying at the host hotel.
