What purplepatch means to me
Purplepatch has felt like a fresh start for me and I’ve enjoyed the slightly different approach to training. I’ve learned quite a bit over the past year and it’s been fun to try some new things in training and see improvement almost immediately. It has also been great to get to know the other purplepatch athletes and is motivating to know you have this ‘team’ behind you throughout the season.
I needed a change at the end of 2015, and after chatting with Matt I knew it was the right move shortly after. His overall approach to coaching really resonated with me and we seemed to ‘click’ personality wise which helped make the decision easier. He recognizes that there is a lot more to being a professional athlete than just swim, bike, run and understands these other variables in life. I know he has helped many other professionals have some great success at both the 70.3 & Ironman distance and I felt it was the right fit to allow me to continue to progress. Just getting started and looking forward to many years ahead!
