02:15-The Meat and Potatoes
02:20 -Question 1 from Kevin: Is there a minimum amount of running you can do to be a successful triathlete?
Let's frame triathlon. First of all, it is a sport that is comprised of three disciplines. It's not comprised of three sports. So, in other words, it is a single sport, where everything works together. And I started with that with the cross pollination effect of swimming. So you are a swim/bike/runner, not a triathlete that swims, cycles, runs. "
11:45 - Question 2 from Corinne: Should I be forcing myself to take a rest day, especially if I'm fatigued?
The first thing for anyone listening is I think it's really important for you to know yourself. It's not what is right for your competitors, what is right for your friends, it is what is right for you.
18:30 - Question 3 from Andres: What changes should I expect in the transition from a road bike to a new TT (time-trial) bike?
And ultimately, we don't win any awards for producing the most power. We win the most awards by going the fastest that we can, relative to any power that we put into the bicycle.
28:30 - Question 4 from Jim: If you have a course similar to say St. George with lots of rollers, how should I approach my run strategy, especially when cresting the hills?
You don't want to pop the champagne cork and then try and stuff the champagne back into the bottle. Instead, you slowly slowly slowly shape the champagne. And then as we can, you can pop it over the top.
38:05 - Question 5 from Cherie: Should I add in some heat-induced trainer rides to prepare my body for hot racing?
You don't want to do key sessions in that type of environment, because you want quality of training. Put them in if you're feeling fresh and great. But any benefits that you'll get will be destroyed if you show up to St. George depleted because of them.
